Buying Philips Sonicare HX6972 FlexCare and FlexCare+ Electric ToothBrushes

Philips Sonicare FlexCare (HX6972) and Philips Sonicare FlexCare Plus are currently the best selling models of Sonicare tootbrushes (according to Amazon.com website sales ranking statistics). They are only rivaled by Philips Sonicare Essence Power Toothbrush which holds the top position.

At this moment Philips Sonicare FlexCare Rechargeable Sonic Toothbrush with Sanitizer (HX6972) is available at Amazon for $100.13 (which is 44% or $79.86 discount from the original $179.99 price). At this moment this seems to be the cheapest place you can find it online (at least I weren’t able to find it cheaper than $100 using Google shopping).

Philips Sonicare FlexCare Plus, Rechargeable Toothbrush is selling at Amazon for $137.75 (27% discount from $189.99 selling price). And here Amazon.com again beats their competitors with only Newegg.com coming close to this price at $140).

Key Differences

FlexCare Plus is a newer model of FlexCare ToothBrush. There are several differences between these toothbrushes:

- FlexCare Plus has 2 times longer life on the charge. 42 vs. 20 2 minute brushings in FlexCare.

- FlexCare Plus has a bit more stylish look in my opinion.

- ‘Go Care’ and ‘Max Care’  modes were replaced by ‘Gum Care’ and ‘Refresh’ modes. There are not many changes here but naming: Max Care’s four 45 seconds brushing periods were replaced by Gum Care three 30 seconds periods and 1 minute problem areas period. According to reviews these modes are rarely used and you may not even notice a difference.

- Case in FlexCare+ is made of hard plastic which may be better for travelling.

Both of the models share following features:

- UV Brush Head Sanitizer – it kills 99% of bacteria on brush head.

- Sensitive Mode when brush is running on less power in order not to cause pain for people with sensitive teeth.

- Massage mode drives fluid to your gums with patented massaging motion.
